Great Sale on ebooks!

I received a really nice surprise in my inbox this morning. I received a notice about a new sale from Packt Publishing. They are running a Stock Your Reader This Christmas sale. Buy 2 or more ebooks and get them for $5 US each. I have done some reviews for them before so I know the books are usually very high quality and well-written. The other thing I love is that their books are DRM-free, so once you get the book, it doesn’t matter where you want to read it and if you get a new reader for the holidays, you don’t have to worry about getting the book all over again.

I have had a lot of good experiences working with them, so I would recommend taking a look. Most of their stuff covers either .NET or Open Source projects, so it’s all stuff I know and use as much as I can.

The link is above and I’ll put it here too: http://www.packtpub.com/news/stock-your-reader-christmas

Enjoy!

Coding environments

For as much programming as I do, I find that I’m just as concerned about the aesthetics of my working environment as anyone. I don’t really like the stock fonts which accompany most of the IDEs and editors in which I find myself working from time to time. I’ve finally, yes finally, settled on a grouping which seems to feel very comfortable to me across all the different tools I use. I prefer using Ethan Schoonover’s Solarized colour palette (usually the light palette) along side Fabrizio Schiavi’s Pragmata Pro font.

I just need to save back money to pay for the complete version. It’s not cheap, but it’s a bloody good font!
